Stanley Blows His Top at Mt. Lassen Volcanic Park, California!

Stanley recently had the pleasure of visiting Mt. Lassen Volcanic Park in northern California! My old college buddy Molly and her family were kind hosts who braved the cold and sulfurous steam to take him there. :)

Fun Facts about California:
31st State
State Nickname: The Golden State
Capitol: Sacramento
State Bird: California Valley Quail
State Flower: Golden Poppy
State Tree: California Redwood
State Fossil: Saber-Tooth Cat
State Mammal: Grizzly Bear

 Malachi, our mini-host :)

The park is so beautiful, even in winter!

Stanley also got to see the sulfur works at the park! More than a tad smelly, according to our hosts - this is apparently a smaller version of a much larger steam vent called Bumpass Hell, which is an additional mile hike. Whew!

Thanks Molly & family for such a fun and interesting trip!
