Stanley's Old Kentucky Home!

My old college buddy and freshman dorm mate Kristy Boggs offered to show Stanley around the beautiful Bluegrass state!

Kentucky Fun Facts:
(brought to you by G-bug and Truth)
15th State
Nickname: The Bluegrass State
Capitol: Frankfort
State Bird: Cardinal
State Flower: Goldenrod
State Animal: Grey Squirrel
Motto: United We Stand, Divided We Fall

Kristy showed Stanley around her town, Lexington Kentucky - they checked out the Smucker and JIF factories there (peanut butter-and-jelly is G-Bug's favorite sandwich, so this was a big deal).

She also made sure to take Stanley to Rupp Arena, home of the Kentucky Wildcats! GO CATS!

Stanley also got to visit the state capitol, Frankfort Kentucky. He tried to meet Governor Beshear, but - alas - he wasn't home.

He did get to see Daniel Boone's gravesite, though - we are looking forward to learning more about him later this year.

Stanley also got to enjoy some of the most delicious eateries in Lexington - yum!

Thanks so much, Kristy! And stay tuned, y'all!

Sally's road trip through California, Nevada, and Wyoming!

My old high school band buddy Anthony Perez and his family invited Sally to join them as they relocated from their former Air Force base in California to their new assignment in Wyoming. She had a wild ride and loved every minute of it!

Before leaving California, the Perezes took Sally to Bubble Gum Alley in San Luis Obispo, California. Anthony assures me she didn't touch the wall! Gah!

Sally also got a VIP tour of Vandenburg AFB - it's one of the only bases that still conducts nuclear missile tests in the country.

Nevada Fun Facts:

36th State
State Nickname: The Silver State
Capitol: Carson City
State Bird: Mountain Bluebird
State Flower: Sagebrush
State Animal: Desert Bighorn Sheep

Then, it was time to hit the road! On the way to Wyoming, Sally had a wild night in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Steady there, Sally...

And finally, they made it to Wyoming!
